US 30 Mainline

Please review each of the alternative illustrations and Decision matrix below to see the comparison of engineering and environmental criteria evaluated. After reviewing, be sure to click on the button at the top of the webpage to Provide Your Input.

There are two alternatives being evaluated for US 30 Mainline. Both alternatives satisfy the project purpose and needs. Alternative A provides three full-time travel lanes in both directions. Alternative B provides two full-time travel lanes plus flexible use inside shoulders in both directions. The flexible use inside shoulder will be signed as active travel lanes when needed based on traffic demands. As such, this alternative will provide three travel lanes by direction when needed. At all other times, the inside shoulder will be available for emergency use.

Quarry Road / Business US 30 Interchange

The US 30 westbound on-ramp begins the third travel lane on US 30 Mainline, while the third US 30 eastbound travel lanes ends as the off-ramp to Quarry Road. A second dedicated left-turn lane is added to the US 30 westbound off-ramp approach at Business US 30.

The following graphics further illustrate the US 30 Mainline Alternative A and Alternative B by showing the differences at this interchange area.
