ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES
Most of the significant environmental features in this section are mainly concentrated around the Norwood Road interchange. The Struble Trail runs beneath U.S. 30, parallel to Norwood Road. Two parks, the township- and county-owned Struble Trail Property and township-owned The Ponds (formerly Kardon Park) surround the Norwood Road interchange in the northwest, southwest, and southeast quadrants. East Branch Brandywine Creek runs between Norwood Road and Route 282 and crosses beneath U.S. 30 via a bridge. East Branch Brandywine Creek is designated as a warm water stream and is stocked with trout. Two small, unnamed tributaries of East Branch Brandywine Creek are located on either side of Norwood Road and along the on-ramp from Norwood Road to U.S. 30 eastbound. West of Norwood Road, seven wetlands and two more unnamed tributaries of East Branch Brandywine Creek are clustered on both the north and south sides of U.S. 30. There is a wooded area north of the Norwood House Apartments, between Norwood Road and Route 113. An active agricultural field is present southeast of the U.S. 30 and Route 113 interchange.
