King of Prussia, PA – Nighttime lane restrictions are scheduled on the eastbound and westbound U.S. 30 Bypass ramps to and from Route 82 (Manor Road) and Reeceville Road in Valley and Caln townships, Chester County, on Monday, July 24, and Tuesday, July 25, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, for line striping and installation of reflective pavement markers and rumble strips, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. In addition to the ramp restriction, the contractor will also restrict the eastbound and westbound right lane in the area of the two interchanges during the two-night operation.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these interchanges because slowdowns will occur during construction.
This work is part of a $3.4 million project to repair and resurface over 13 miles of state highway in Chester County.
Additional state highways resurfaced under this contract include:
- S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) between Dilworthtown Road and the U.S. 202 Expressway Interchange in Westtown, West Goshen, Thornbury and Birmingham townships;
- Birmingham Road between Route 52 (Lenape Road) and Route 842 (Miner Street) in East Bradford Township;
- Route 842 (Creek Road/West Miner Street) between Brandywine Creek and South High Street in East Bradford Township and West Chester Borough;
- Route 401 (Conestoga Road) between French Bridge and Iron Stone Lane in West Nantmeal Township; and
- Route 926 (Street Road) between Cheyney Road and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Willistown, Westtown, and Thornbury townships.
Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
Work on the entire project is expected to be completed later this month.
